The Nokia X6 smart phone is perhaps the most advanced of all the phones in the Nokia Xseries lineup and is also the first Nokia phone to feature a capacitive touchscreen instead of the usual resistive ones. However, the original Nokia X6 had 32 GB of in-built memory and was therefore pricier than the newly released Nokia X6 16 GB which be comparatively cheaper and should hit markets worldwide immediately in accordance with Nokia’s planned Q1 release date.

According to Nokia there will be slight differences in the Nokia X6 16 GB smart phone according to where you buy it, pretty much expected these days for different regions utilize different networks. So the Nokia X6 16 GB will launch in North and Latin America with quad band GSM and WCDMA (850/1900/2100) and in other areas with quad band GSM and WCDMA (900/1900/2100).

The technical specifications for the Nokia X6 16 GB mobile phone include the following features: a 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen with 360 x 640 pixels resolution, a 433.9 MHz processor, a 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics featuring dual LED flash, Bluetooth, A-GPS, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and a battery that theoretically allows for up to 35 hours of continuous music playback.

However, with 16 GB in-built memory, there is no microSD slot or any other means to expand memory on the Nokia X6 16 GB cellphone. One of the areas that may perhaps make the Nokia X6 16 GB cellphone seem a bit lacking is its OS, the Nokia X6 16 GB smart phone runs Symbian^1 which is easily not the best mobile operating systems around.

On the other hand with the official launch of the Symbian^3 OS right around the corner so to speak (and so we expect) perhaps updates will be available for the Nokia X6 16 GB mobile phone.

In terms of looks, the Nokia X6 16 GB sticks to the candybar form factor and is slightly thicker than an Apple iPhone 3GS. The Nokia X6 16 GB is by no means the most stylish phone around rather it is subtle and toned down and is instead quite comfortable to use.

To conclude, while the Nokia X6 16 GB smart phone is a very smart move by Nokia as for most people 16 GB is quite enough space to store videos, music and documents or anything else they care to save on their phone it is undoubtedly not the best phone we have reviewed and much will depend on its pricing.
