Puma is a German company best known for its shoes and more precisely for its sporting related products. However, teaming up with Sagem Wireless, a France based multinational that has also created the Porsche and Hello Kitty cellphones, Puma and Sagem Wireless jointly launched the Sagem PUMA phone at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona, Spain. The Sagem Puma phone was rumored and seen in a photo leak and much hype was created about it, now we can get a better idea about the Sagem Puma cellphone.

  • HTC is making a lot of waves these days although their biggest wave maker, the much anticipated HTC Supersonic has yet to be officially announced. At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain with many companies vying for the spotlight, one could argue that perhaps the most eagerly anticipated showing was for that by HTC. HTC revealed three new smart phones at the MWC, namely the HTC Legend (which we covered earlier), HTC Desire and HTC HD Mini.

  • Huawei, Lumigon debut Android cellphones at MWC

    Huawei is perhaps a company little known outside of China amongst consumers but it has already replaced Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens to become the world’s 2nd largest mobile equipment manufacturer. Lumigon is a Danish company that has seemed to pop into existence out of nowhere seemingly and both Lumigon and Huawei have been active at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) at Barcelona, Spain this year where each debuted multiple Android based mobile phones.

    Update: Acer Liquid e cellphone

    Just a while back we reviewed the Acer Liquid A1 and we thought that it was a very good smart phone that could however be improved upon. Well lo and behold, Acer at the currently in progress Mobile World Conference (MWC) being held in Barcelona, Spain introduced an updated version of the Acer Liquid A1 named the Acer Liquid e.   • Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50: GPS or cellphone?

    Garmin is a well established company providing communication, information and navigation devices and applications as well as being the global leader in satellite navigation. Asus on the other hand is a well known hardware components, peripherals, laptops and more recently mobile phones manufacturer. The Garmin-Asus alliance is formed to take advantage of the specialties of both firms and therefore produce cellphones that can capture the market such as the yet to be released Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50.

  • HTC Legend leaked on Dutch site

    HTC Legend leaked on Dutch site

    KPN, a Dutch landlines and mobile telecommunications company, recently allowed viewers of their site a short sneak peek at the HTC Legend Android based smart phone which is according to their site set to be released sometime in March 2010. This leak, just days before the Mobile World Conference, almost certainly confirms the name (HTC Legend) and some of the specifications that dribbled to the public through various sources and earlier leaks.

  • Motorola Cliq XT or Quench Cellphone Review

    Motorola has been making a decided comeback as a player in the global mobile phones market and its latest offering based on the Android mobile operating system is the Motorola Quench or Cliq XT in the United States. While the Motorola Quench or Cliq XT will not (sorry but we couldn’t resist) quench the thirsts of those looking for high end high powered extremely sophisticated smart phones, it does have a trick or two up its sleeve cover.

  • LG Cookie Plus GS500 Cellphone Review

    The LG GS500 also known as the LG Cookie Plus is set to be the latest offering from LG Electronics, one of the leading producers of televisions, computer peripherals, home electronics and mobile phones. As part of the Cookie legacy which was essentially marketed as a touch screen, motion sensing, fun but low priced phone, the LG Cookie Plus GS500 looks set to build on it and further market growth.   • Mobile World Conference Coverage: Toshiba TG02 and K01

    Barcelona, Spain: That’s the place to be this time of year if you are at all inclined to learn what the next year holds for us in terms of mobile phones and related technologies. Toshiba, a relatively small player in the smart phone industry unveiled two new Windows Mobile 6.5 based smart phones, the Toshiba TG02 and the Toshiba K01.   • From PCs to Smartphones: The Acer Liquid A1

    As some of you might know, there existed a while back a company called E-TEN. Some of its products were also branded glofish and its products were mostly hand-held devices of the smart phone variety. In about mid-2008, Acer launched a takeover bid for E-TEN and was successful, since then we have seen Acer regularly releasing well made but unexceptional cellphones in the market, most of them using Microsoft Windows Mobile, until the Acer Liquid A1.
