There’s too many to count! Alright so there’s only nine but that’s still a lot considering all the new phones that LG has been launching recently. A comprehensive list goes as follows: LG Cookie Music, LG Pure, LG Jacquar 5, LG GT405, LG GT400 Viewty Smile, LG GW370 Shannon, LG KS365, LG GM205 and LG GU230. It seems that LG is aspiring to become the world’s leading cellphone manufacturer, or at least the one with the biggest portfolio of cellphones. Either way, it will be interesting to see what newfangled devices LG has come up this time. (more…)

  • Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 now available for Android, Symbian^3 demo video

    Opera Mini is one of the most common mobile browsers available if not the most popular and besides providing compatibility for almost all kinds of phones from different manufacturers, also helps out with your budget by cutting data costs and improving speeds and this latest release sees it available for the Android on the Android market place. Symbian^3 which was officially announced for release at the MWC 2010 is starting to get closer to an actual commercial release and a demo is shown in a video after the break. (more…)

    Microsoft Pure and Microsoft Turtle headed to Verizon

    This story initially reported by Gizmodo has since been all but confirmed and most folks are now waiting for an official confirmation from Microsoft and Verizon. Few specifications are available for the Microsoft Pure and Microsoft Turtle, both of which are QWERTY style phones based on Microsoft Pink although the Microsoft Pure smart phone looks like a regular side-slide QWERTY smart phone and the Microsoft Turtle is a vertical slider of sorts and you can take a look at the renderings below.   • Vodafone 845 in the UK, Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 in Canada and LG KH5200 in South Korea, new Android phones

    Rogers is launching the Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 in Canada and the most important news with regards to this is that an Android 2.1 update is expected soon. Vodafone on the other hand is set to launch an Android based phone (which we speculate will be made by Huawei), the Vodafone 845 that should be highly affordable and not lacking in features. Last but not least, LG is set to launch the LG KH5200 in South Korea, an Android based phone also known as the Andro-1 and is set to be the first in the Korean market. (more…)

  • Samsung Super AMOLED display explanation video

    The Samsung Super AMOLED was first showcased at the MWC this year with the Samsung S8500 Wave smartphone which featured many other innovations as well (including Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 n Wi-Fi and the first Bada OS based phone).   • Samsung SHW-M120S mobile phone, bringing Bluetooth 3.0 to Android

    Samsung has been making some waves recently what with the release of Samsung Bada (its new mobile operating system), then the Samsung Wave, the first Bada phone and also the first to have Bluetooth 3.0 and also the first to have Wi-Fi 802.11 n. Now it seems Samsung is likely to reach a new first, an Android based smart phone that has Bluetooth 3.0. Yes the Samsung SHW-M120S cellphone is likely to be the first to reach that lofty goal and this information was found through a Qualified Design Listing with the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group).   • Free EA Games *Gasp* on the Palm Pre

    Yes ladies and gentleman, with this special limited time offer from O2 you can actually get free games from EA (Electronic Arts). EA which is one of the world’s largest game publishers is not the type of company that gives things away for free so you may well be shocked but on the other hand you have to purchase a Palm Pre smart phone from O2. At the moment this offer is limited to the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy and Spain so Palm Pre hopefuls in the US will have to look for another cellphone, perhaps the Palm Pre Plus. (more…)

  • Nokia Patents Kinetic Energy Harvester

    Ok, so its not a harvester in the sense of combine harvesters used on farms but Nokia‘s latest patent sees them ready to harvest the kinetic energy employed in using phones everyday to recharge your battery at least partially by using piezoelectric technology. While this concept is not exactly new (case in point kinetic watches) it will be interesting to see if it will work for cellphones and we sincerely hope it does because it seems like such a practical thing.   • Update for Sony Ericsson Satio available now, promises WVGA video recording

    Alright so we haven’t yet had the chance to test this one out but it seems (according to the official Sony Ericsson blog) that there is an update available for the Sony Ericsson Satio it seems that the Sony Ericsson Satio will now be able to record videos in WVGA as well doing some other rather simple things that makes one wonder why they were not available for the phone out of the box. Regardless, users of the Sony Ericsson Satio smart phone will rejoice, especially those prone to using Facebook and YouTube. (more…)
