Nokia it seems is very busy these days, in addition to setting up its new naming system for its cellphones and launching the Nokia C5 recently, it has now partnered up with Alpine Electronics (best known for car audio and video systems) to announce Terminal Mode. Terminal Mode is a technology which will enable Nokia’s Ovi services to be used through your car’s Alpine audio/video system by integrating your Nokia smart phones with the Alpine system in the car. At the MWC in Barcelona, Spain February this year, Samsung unveiled the high end Samsung Wave S8500 mobile phone and also the Samsung I8520 along with their new mobile operating system Bada. Other phones were also launched by Samsung however they were mostly eclipsed by these cutting edge phones. Flip-phones or as some like to call them, clamshell form factor phones have been very popular throughout the history of cellphones (which is still fairly short to be honest). While some clamshell phones have been fairly high-end and cutting edge (just take a look at the soon to be released Celsius X VI II Papillon flip phone which is priced at $300,000 and among other things charges itself when it is flipped open or closed) the LG KF305 mobile phone is not one of them and is a simple phone for people interested in the simpler things in life. So, rumors have been flying around these days about a new Nokia phone and today Nokia unveiled the Nokia C5 on its official blog with pictures and some interesting looking specifications as well. We’ve already talked about the recently released HTC HD Mini and we told our readers that it was a compact version of the HTC HD2 smart phone, but it came to us that we have not really covered the HTC HD2 Windows Mobile based smart phone and so here we are. Unlike the HTC Hero2 which was renamed the HTC Legend when launched at the MWC, the HTC HD2 continues the legacy of the HTC Touch series of smartphones and is a direct successor to the HTC Touch HD smart phone. Symbian OS or platform is the world’s most popular smart phone operating system (still) with a global market share of about 46%. Nokia took over Symbian Software Ltd and set up the non-profit Symbian Foundation in its stead. Microsoft Windows Mobile has been around for about a decade now since it first launched as Pocket PC 2000 and is based on Microsoft Windows CE, the latest form, Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series was launched at the MWC held at Barcelona, Spain in February 2010. So there’s two bits of news in the title, firstly the LG Arena Max LU9400 has been confirmed and is now available in South Korea but has been dubbed LG Maxx LG9400. The other bit of news that one can infer from the title is unlike the rest of the world, South Korea will get its first taste of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with the LG Maxx LG9400 unlike the rest of the world which has seen many devices featuring the 1 GHz processor including the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Google Nexus One and Acer Liquid.
