Dell Aero smart phone preview

While the other Dell leaks such as the Thunder, Lightning, Flash and Smoke were all high-end next gen phones, the Dell Aero had already been leaked earlier and is comparatively a mid-range smart phone. New details however have appeared along with confirmation for the Dell Aero, one of which is that the Dell Aero smart phone is set for a Q2 2010 release with AT&T. The Dell Aero mobile phone is expected to run on Android 1.5 although documents show that Dell plans an Android 2.1 “refresh” sometime between Q3 and Q4.

The new leak confirms Dell’s earlier claims of the Dell Aero cellphone being the lightest phone in its class (Android phones) with an approximate weight of 104 grams. Other technical specifications for the Dell Aero smart phone include a 624 MHz Marvell processor that should cope well with multitasking, a 3.5″ capacitive nHD touchscreen, 5 MP camera with auto-focus and flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, GPS with aGPS, microSD with support for up to 32 GB of expandable memory, quad-band GSM/EDGE and triple band UMTS for 3G capability.

On the software side of things, the Dell Aero mobile phone comes pre-loaded with QuickOffice and also has integration with social networking sites. The Dell Aero cellphone is also set to support Flashlite for its WebKit based browser and the media player.

All in all the Dell Aero is a fairly good device but has been completely overshadowed by the other Dell devices that were leaked.
