Microsoft has revealed that the Windows phone 7 Operating system is ready and now released to manufacturing. It implies that very soon we have WP7 handset in our hand. At this all the partners of this OS can integrate it with their devices. But one thing should be kept in mind that Microsoft already notified that there is need of some work before the device having WinPho 7 will come in the market. The Microsoft partners who are working on integration of OS with their devices , now they have to update them with RTM version.. it is also refered by company that WP7 Operating system has been tested thororoughly before its final launch.

Here are the words which the company said for this test process;

“We had nearly ten thousand devices running automated tests daily, over a half million hours of active self-hosting use, over three and a half million hours of stress test passes, and eight and a half million hours of fully automated test passes. We’ve had thousands of independent software vendors and early adopters testing our software and giving us great feedback. We are ready.”

It is expected that Microsoft will not allow the customized themes on their WP7 supported devices. But here we want to refer that we have already seen Vodafone-themed WP7 device so it is difficult to say anything with surety at this time.

When we look at all the situation we came to know that Microsoft team works really hard to make everything perfect for the user. The reason behind this may be that it is the last chance for Microsoft to proves itself successful in mobile field.

The first WinPho 7 device is expected to hit the market on October.

Microsoft spend more than $500 million dollar with the intention to start its Windows phone 7 project successfully. We know that company has to face the tough competition in the market as producers of Blackberry Smartphone, the iPhone and Android are the well-established competitors who already have a large market share.

It is expected that Microsoft has a plan to invest $400 million dollars only for the marketing and promotional campaign of their upcoming Winpho 7. We already unveiled a number of WinPho7 carrier of Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson etc. It is also in the plan that the company will use $100 Million for clearance of developers and original equipments manufacturer’s payments. The purpose of spending a massive amount to get Windows Phone 7 on par with existing platforms as much as possible, so that it can stand a chance.

According to some sources, it is demonstrated that Microsoft will spend more than $1 billion for both marketing and manufacturing costs in the first year of Windows phone 7.

Deutsche Bank telecommunications analyst Jonathan Goldberg

“Microsoft has already committed to pay millions of dollars for “non-recurring engineering” costs in order to counterbalance development costs for OEMs.”

“This is make-or-break for them. They need to do whatever it takes to stay in the game. It’s still wide open. They don’t have to take share from Android or Apple, so long as they can attract enough consumers switching from feature phones.”

It is not the first time when Microsoft spends so much; before the launch of Xbox original Microsoft did the same. We just hope that Microsoft continues with Traditional success as it got in the gaming and the software fields.

Microsoft has announced that they are going to terminate expansion in Kin Line and now they will work only on Development of Windows Phone 7 OS. All the resources of Microsoft Corporation will be invested only on Operating system improvement and perfection. The official statement from Microsoft is as follows:”Microsoft has made the decision to focus on the Windows Phone 7 launch and will not ship KIN in Europe this fall as planned.

Additionally, we are integrating our KIN team with the Windows Phone 7 team, incorporating valuable ideas and technologies from KIN into future Windows Phone releases. We will continue to work with Verizon in the U.S. to sell current KIN phones.”
This news is not very surprising and shocking because it is only the reaction of negative responses and feedbacks that Microsoft received for KIN mobile phone. Every model of KIN Line is not as impressive as expected by user that’s why Microsoft decide to give up Kin Line.Microsoft made great efforts and wasted their energy and resources but they didn’t get the result as they expected .In this situation Microsoft inclined to get rid of unprofitable project i.e Kin Cellular phone.

Yesterday Emblaze phone had decided to seize their project due to shortage of fund and today Microsoft made a good decision of withdrawal from KIN Mobile phone market. Microsoft has taken the right decision at very right time because there is an immense need to make Windows phone 7m OS perfect and competitive so that it would be a first choice of every user in comparison with Android and iOS. The company evaluates and analyzes the fierce competition situation therefore takes a step of Kin Line Seizing and Windows 7 promoting.

Microsoft’s Project Pink has finally borne fruit with the two leaked phones Microsoft Pure and Turtle set to arrive via Verizon and Vodafone. Of course they are now known as the Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two which is, lets be honest, better than owning a Turtle. In any case, this new breed of social phones are made by Sharp for Microsoft and have a whole host of new features that are sure to delight customers and indeed, even us. More below including link to the site as well as specs and pics for the Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two.

The Microsoft Kin One smart phone is pictured above and is the slightly lower spec phone of the two but still manages to pack a TFT touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, 3G, 4 GB of internal memory, a 5 MP camera with auto-focus and flash, capable of recording SD (Standard Definition) video and a media player powered by Zune.

The Microsoft Kin Two cellphone on the other hand has the following features in its technical details: a HVGA TFT touchscreen display, QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, 3G, 8 GB of internal storage, 8 MP camera capable of HD video recording with auto-focus and flash, Bluetooth, Zune powered media player and GPS.

However, the main attraction of the Microsoft Kin One and Microsoft Kin Two mobile phone will be the Kin services such as Kin Loop, Kin Spot and Kin Studio. All three Microsoft Kin services are available on both the Kin One and Kin Two.

The Kin Loop service is basically a social networking aggregation tool and displays updates from your friends and contacts from various social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter.

Kin Spot essentially allows you to share pictures with your friends or post it on to your social networking site profile.

Kin Studio is perhaps the best feature of them all and essentially creates an online storage space for you on your Kin.com page and lets you store pictures, videos, etc on it. The great thing about this is you can retrieve your data from Kin Studio even if you lose your Kin One or Kin Two smart phone.

Clearly the Kin One and Kin Two Microsoft phones are chock full of useful features but what remains to be seen is how well the public will receive them. In our opinion the Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two should go on to be great hits simple because of their features and services.

You can find out more about the Microsoft Kin One cellphone and Kin Two mobile phone at their official site by clicking here.

Windows pretty much revolutionized how the world works, not only did it introduce a GUI that was so simple that anyone could work it, it also introduced the copy-paste technique possibly used by millions of people throughout the world. On the latest mobile version of Windows (that is Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series), it seems that the copy paste function will not be available, this was revealed by Microsoft at its MX10 conference where Windows Phone Marketplace and free Windows Phone 7 Developer Tools were also unveiled.

Lack of copy and paste functionality is in itself not a new phenomenon as anyone who used the Apple iPhone from when it was first launched will be only too willing to tell you. Like Apple, it seems Microsoft too will introduce the copy and paste functions in later revisions of the Windows Phone 7 series or so we understand.

This might be somewhat surprising to most Windows Mobile users as Windows Mobile 6.x can handle copy and paste just fine. But we take leave to inform you once again that Windows Phone 7 series is based on a new architecture and is therefore almost completely new. On the same note, we should remind you that Windows Phone 7 series will not support applications made for Windows Mobile 6 series.

In any case, there is quite a long wait before we see the first commercial Windows Phone 7 series handset in action, the LG Panther seems to be the closest to release and that is not expected until September so the holiday season looks like the time when Windows Phone 7 series handsets might be available at a shop near you.

After Google threatened to pull out of China, Motorola started to search (yes, weak but glorious pun) out a new partner to provide search and maps on their Android devices sold in China. The result, though slightly unexpected, can perhaps be labeled the logical step as Microsoft’s Bing search is the second largest search engine after Google and is also set to power Yahoo search in the future. The Motorola i1 is a so far unannounced cellphone that works on the iDEN network, more on this below.

Developed by Motorola, iDEN is mobile telecommunications technology that combines the benefits of GSM technology as well as trunked radio and also has PTT or PTC (Push to Talk over Cellular) capability. The Motorola i1 (initially called the Motorola Opus 1) will work on iDEN and the latest speculation suggests that instead of the earlier reports suggesting that the Motorola i1 has a 3 MP camera, it shall instead have a 5 MP camera.

Other known features for the Motorola i1 include a 3.1″ touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. An accelerometer, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth and a proximity sensor should also feature in the Motorola i1.
Incidentally the Motorola i1 is expected to use the Motorola Blur UI which is rated pretty well and should come packed with Opera Mini.

Also, as we mentioned at the beginning, it seems Motorola has partnered with Microsoft to provide Microsoft Bing Search and Maps on its Android devices being sold in China. Which when one thinks about it is perhaps the only sensible course that was left open to Motorola when Google threatened to pull out its services from China.

This story initially reported by Gizmodo has since been all but confirmed and most folks are now waiting for an official confirmation from Microsoft and Verizon. Few specifications are available for the Microsoft Pure and Microsoft Turtle, both of which are QWERTY style phones based on Microsoft Pink although the Microsoft Pure smart phone looks like a regular side-slide QWERTY smart phone and the Microsoft Turtle is a vertical slider of sorts and you can take a look at the renderings below.

As we said, details are sketchy at the moment but it does seem that although the Microsoft Pure and Microsoft Turtle mobile phones won’t be running the official Windows Phone 7 series (from what we can tell so far) they are based on the same Windows CE based architecture used in Windows Phone 7.

Additionally it seems that although the Microsoft Project Pink user interface or mobile operating system will sport similar looks to Windows Phone 7 series but it will be geared towards messaging and are targeted towards people interested in social networking and text-ing.

At the moment, the Microsoft Pure and Microsoft Turtle Project Pink mobile phones are slated for an April release this year and are likely to be carried by Verizon though it is not unlikely that other carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile in the US might also have them in their line-ups at some future date.

So amongst the horde of news generated everyday regarding cellphones and related topics, here are our picks for today. Firstly AT&T has decided to cut wastage and become more eco-friendly. Next Opera has made Opera Mini compatible with Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 and 6 without the need for Java. Last but not least T-Mobile is planning on launching what they call “very fast mobile web” on March 14th.

AT&T is a mobile carrier as well as a mobile cellular service provider and recently made an announcement that it will enforce new guidelines for equipment manufacturers to improve packaging (in terms of environmental friendliness) and also to comply with GSMA universal charging solution by the end of 2011. In addition to this 75% of devices from the manufacturers must at least be 65% recyclable.

All this means that even by the end of 2010, at least 200 tonnes of plastic and paper material will be saved not to mention the newer packaging itself will be greener (more environmentally friendly).

Next, Opera Mini, the mobile web browser that is compatible with virtually every cellphone has now become compatible for Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 devices without the need for Java.

Java is the reason that Opera Mini is so readily compatible with most mobile phones but this update means that it will operate on native resources in Windows Mobile and in addition to providing the same features and services as before, may actually load up slightly faster.

To download Opera Mini for your Windows Mobile based device please click here.

Last but not least, T-Mobile is set to launch what it calls “Very Fast Mobile Web” but is actually HSPA+ and what most people expected to be called 4G on March the 14th. 4G or HSPA+ allows for speeds of up to 21 Mbps which is faster than many home broadband or DSL connections.

Co-incidentally (not) T-Mobile is also set to launch the webConnect Rocket on March 14th in areas which will have HSPA+ enabled and by the year’s end should also have a HSPA+ compatible handset released and as the Huawei U8800 is currently the only HSPA+ handset in the world, we very much expect that that will be it.

This one is unconfirmed at the moment but it seems that the Windows Phone 7 series LG pre-production prototype (that we checked out in an earlier post about the LG Windows Phone 7 series smart phone) might have a name. The name according to to UK website that seems to have somehow inveigled the name out of LG and it seems to be the LG Panther. LG Panther to us sounds like a name that could quite possibly be the real one for the Windows Phone 7 series LG smart phone for which as of yet relatively little is known.

As we mentioned in our earlier post, LG seems to be a step ahead of the competition and set to launch a Windows Phone 7 series based device later this year before anyone else. The LG smart phone that was handled at the Engadget show is clearly a side-slide QWERTY type device with a touchscreen.

As to the rest of the specifications it is hard to fathom although the LG Windows Phone 7 series device will of course fulfill the minimum requirements set by Microsoft for Windows Phone 7 series based handsets.

One thing we do know is that the LG Windows Phone 7 series based prototype has a 5 MP camera, what we do not know is if this will also be true for the final product. Regardless, LG seems to have set September this year as the time for the launch of this device and it will be interesting to see it in action, even if it is for no other reason than that it will be the first Windows Phone 7 series based device.

By all accounts, one would find that users feel that Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.x.x is positively ancient, drab and even when made to appear to look good (for example HTC phones with SenseUI) has still very limited functionality and is not at all the thing. Microsoft it seems is ready to please the masses and recently introduced their new mobile OS, the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) held at Barcelona, Spain.

As you can see, and as will please most of the people who have been complaining about how horribly drab Windows Mobile 6 series looks like, Windows Phone 7 series will definitely be slick and shiny as a newly minted coin. The start screen on Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series will feature “live tiles” which will be customizable and for example you may include a “live tile” of a person and it will then include periodically updated information from social networking sites, etc.

As you can see, the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series operating system will also feature hubs that are essentially like categorical widgets that allow you to access Games, People, Music and Video, Pictures, the Marketplace and Documents.

Speaking of the marketplace (which will essentially be the apps store), we now know that applications made for Windows Mobile 6 series will not be compatible with Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series and all applications will have to be re-made from the ground up using the new APIs.

It seems that Adobe Flash will not be available for Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series just yet but it is expected to be introduced as a plug-in after it has been released.

This last is unconfirmed at the moment but many people believe that Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series might not, like the Apple iPhone OS, support multitasking. This feature which is available in both the Android and WebOS platforms might be sorely missed in Windows Phone 7 series as it has been found to be highly useful by most users who have smart phones capable of multitasking running operating systems capable of it.

Now while we agree that the Windows Mobile 6 series lacked some features recently introduced by competing operating systems like iPhone OS, Google Android and most recently webOS by Palm; we still feel that despite its drab appearance Windows Mobile 6 has a lot to offer. And so apparently do Microsoft for it seems that the Windows Mobile 6 series is to be re-branded as Microsoft Windows Phone 6 Starter Edition that will mostly be targeted at new and emerging markets.

In other news, Adobe recently announced that it will release a plug-in for both Android and WebOS that will enable full flash support for both operating systems and allow users to access the huge multitude of games, videos, etc that use flash on the Internet. Adobe also unveiled a new version of Adobe AIR which will allow developers to create flash based applications for all smart-phones that are Adobe Flash capable.
