Dell Lightning Windows Phone 7 preview

There has been a massive Dell mobile devices leak with lots of new cellphones, smart phones and even a tablet revealed. Looks like Dell is making up for lost time in the cellphone industry and it seems like they are ready to take on the big names in the industry with devices like the Dell Lightning. The Dell Lightning is set to be a Windows Phone 7 based device and expected to be released sometime in Q4 this year, which is pretty remarkable considering its tech specs and features!

The technical specifications for the Dell Lightning smart phone include a 4.1″ OLED WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor, 5 MP auto-focus camera, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, microUSB, FM radio, GPS, proximity, ambient light, accelerometer and G-sensors, 1 GB ROM, 512 MB RAM, 8 GB micro SD memory and quad band GSM as well as 3G capability.

The Dell Lightning cellphone is a portrait slider as Dell calls it (what we would usually call a vertical slider) with a QWERTY keyboard and is set to run Windows Phone 7. In the leak, it was also mentioned that the Dell Lightning mobile phone will have full support for Flash! This even though Microsoft has already stated that Windows Phone 7 will not have Flash support to begin with.

If that is not enough to get you excited then you should know that Dell plans to upgrade the Dell Lightning to LTE in Q4 of 2011 which is 4G connectivity for those who do not know.

The Dell Lightning (Windows Phone 7, massive 4.1″ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 3G with LTE expected, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, etc) looks set to be one of the biggest devices yet to be released that we know or have heard tell of and three of the other Dell devices leaked would probably be on that list too.
