HTC officially launches Desire, Legend and HD Mini at the MWC

HTC is making a lot of waves these days although their biggest wave maker, the much anticipated HTC Supersonic has yet to be officially announced. At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain with many companies vying for the spotlight, one could argue that perhaps the most eagerly anticipated showing was for that by HTC. HTC revealed three new smart phones at the MWC, namely the HTC Legend (which we covered earlier), HTC Desire and HTC HD Mini.

The HTC Desire smart phone (also known as the HTC Bravo) is a natural successor to the Google Nexus One smart phone as it features a 3.7″ AMOLED capacitive display with a 480 x 800 resolution. The similarities do not end there as the HTC Desire cellphone also utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz processor and a 5 MP camera with auto-focus and LED flash.

Other technical specifications for the HTC Desire smart phone include quad band GSM and dual band UMTS for 3G access, a Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery, geo-tagging capability for pictures taken, microSD and microSDHC capable, Bluetooth 2.1 and 576 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM.

The HTC Desire mobile phone also features GPS functionality with A-GPS support most likely with Google Maps.

Regardless of the similarities, the HTC Desire cellphone is sure to be an amazing device solely based on its own features and specifications and considering that it utilizes Google Android 2.1, the much talked about updated HTC SenseUI and Adobe Flash 10.1 ready we feel sure that it will be a great hit.

The HTC HD Mini cellphone is on the other hand a Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 based phone and is according to HTC itself a sort of more compact HTC HD2. Quite obviously not a flagship device, the HTC HD Mini smart phone still packs quite a punch and features such as pinch and zoom on its 3.2″ capacitive touchscreen are not quite standard in devices as of yet. 3G connectivity as well as Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) further enhance the connectivity options available on the HTC HD Mini mobile phone along with Bluetooth.

Other notable specifications for the HTC HD Mini smart phone are the 600 MHz processor, 382 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM, 5 MP camera with auto-focus, FM radio, GPS and A-GPS support. Some people might also like the fact that the HTC HD Mini cellphone comes pre-loaded with the Opera Mobile browser which many believe is quite possibly the best mobile browser around at the moment.
