INQ Mini 3G and Chat 3G set for release in India via Aircel

INQ is a company which manufactures mainly mid-range smart phones and is headquartered in London, UK. So far it has three phones in its lineup, the INQ1 cellphone, the INQ Mini 3G and INQ Chat 3G smart phones. INQ‘s main selling point is that it offers 3G capable phones (with fewer features as compared to competitors like the iPhone, T-Mobile G1, Nokia 5800, etc) at a slightly more accessible price. Thus INQ phones are essentially entry level phones for the 3G smart phone market and are now set to launch in India.

INQ will launch the INQ Chat 3G and Mini 3G smart phones in India via Aircel which is only the seventh largest mobile service provider in India. The INQ brand will be endorsed and fronted by Indian national team cricket player M.S. Dhoni.

The INQ Chat 3G mobile phone has the following technical specifications: a 2.2″ QVGA display with 240 x 320 pixels, QWERTY keyboard, microUSB, HSPA class 3G through UMTS, GPS support, a 3.2 MP camera and a microSD slot for (possibly) up to 8 GB of expandable memory.

The INQ Chat 3G is available in four different colors: Black, Yellow, Red and Purple.

However the INQ Chat 3G smart phone like the INQ Mini 3G cellphone has lots of widgets and social networking sites compatibility which will perhaps be their main attraction. Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Windows Live Messenger are just some of the applications you can use to connect with your friends from your INQ Chat 3G or INQ Mini 3G mobile phones.

You can also download new applications or widgets for the INQ Chat 3G and Mini 3G cellphones and add GMail adresses for your contacts in your phonebook and also check your e-mail on the go with instantaneous updates available for GMail users and updates at intervals for Hotmail or Yahoo Mail users.

The INQ Mini 3G mobile phone is smaller than the INQ Chat 3G and that is where the main difference lies, the display is a 2.2″ QVGA display and the camera is a 2 MP one instead of the 3.2 MP one on the INQ Chat 3G and lastly and perhaps most importantly for many people, the keypad is a standard alphanumeric one on the INQ Mini 3G whereas the INQ Chat 3G sports a QWERTY style keypad.

The INQ Mini 3G cellphone also has no GPS support.

Other than that technical specifications are fairly similar and compatibility for different social networking sites as well as e-mail providers is similar. Applications and widgets too are also the same for the INQ Mini 3G smart phone.
