LG Arena GT950 cellphone preview

At the CTIA Wireless 2010 event held in Las Vegas, LG showcased its latest products this past week and one of the cellphones that caught our eye was the LG Arena GT950 mobile phone. The technical specifications and features individually are good but not amazing as in the case of the Samsung S8500 Wave which features Wi-Fi 802.11 n, Bluetooth 3.0, Bada OS and a Super AMOLED display any of which would make a cellphone intriguing. Rather it is the combined package that you get with the LG Arena GT950 smart phone which has us interested and therefore this preview.

The LG Arena GT950 cellphone has some interesting features amongst its technical specifications chief amongst which is 3″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Other features for the LG Arena GT950 mobile phone include a 5 MP camera with auto-focus and flash, Bluetooth 2.1, quad-band GSM and HSPA class 3G access.

This along with the social networking capabilities, mobile TV, Dolby Mobile Sound and DivX video player which allows you to view HD videos on the LG Arena GT950 mobile phone make for a complete product that combines entertainment and connectivity with perhaps Wi-Fi being the only feature lacking.

On the other hand the LG Arena GT950 smart phone does feature a proximity sensor, accelerometer, GPS and S-Class Touch UI which according to LG the last of which provides a unique and advanced 3D user interface experience.

In our opinion the LG Arena GT950 cellphone is a smart phone that has a lot to recommend it and perhaps only the lack of Wi-Fi and the S-Class UI to go against it. Although considering we have not had a hands-on experience with the LG Arena GT950 smart phone as of yet and the S-Class UI used in it is improved, even that might not be a failing and indeed its multi-touch interface might be considered a decided advantage by many.
