LG LU2300, new Android phone expected from LG

Although unannounced as of yet, quite a few details have emerged regarding the LG LU2300 smart phone which is set to be one of the first few Android phones from LG. LG Electronics, despite being one of the founding members of the Open Handset Alliance which is essentially the group that promotes the Android mobile operating system, has very few Android phones in its portfolio and hardly a one that could for lack of a better description be termed an “iPhone killer”, but maybe the LG LU2300 might change that.

Although a complete list of technical details or specifications is unknown as of yet, what few features we do know of make the LG LU2300 cellphone comparable to the Google Nexus One or Motorola Droid or the Apple iPhone.

The known technical specifications for the LG LU2300 mobile phone include a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1, 5 MP camera, 3.5″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, 720p HD video playback (DivX compatible), Wi-Fi, DMB tuner and GPS.

As you can see from the picture above, the LG LU2300 smart phone is a QWERTY side-slider and has a four row keyboard which looks reasonable enough. As the LG LU2300 cellphone is expected to be released in South Korea as early as May perhaps, it features a DMB tuner which is essentially a mobile TV format common to that region.

We may only speculate as to the rest of the features although we are pretty certain it will feature a microSD slot, a microUSB port and quite likely 3G connectivity. Pricing is as yet unavailable although a phone as well-endowed with features such as the LG LU2300 mobile phone will likely be equally well priced.
