LG Maxx LG9400 first Qualcomm Snapdragon based phone in S Korea

So there’s two bits of news in the title, firstly the LG Arena Max LU9400 has been confirmed and is now available in South Korea but has been dubbed LG Maxx LG9400. The other bit of news that one can infer from the title is unlike the rest of the world, South Korea will get its first taste of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with the LG Maxx LG9400 unlike the rest of the world which has seen many devices featuring the 1 GHz processor including the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Google Nexus One and Acer Liquid.

We do realize that LG LG9400 mobile phone does not sound very high-brow and it seems to us that the LG Maxx LG9400 nomenclature would be quite below the level of a company like LG Electronics. Therefore it is our belief (shared by many others) that the source from which this originated (this being the LG Maxx LG9400 cellphone and the source being the telecomskorea website) might have been in error.

Regardless the LG Maxx LG9400 is a touch screen smart phone that features a 3.5″ WVGA display and runs LG’s S-Class 3D UI. This means that one can fully expect the LG Maxx LG9400 navigation to be interesting and hopefully the S-Class 3D user interface will be given a facelift along with some new features that harness the power of the Snapdragon processor.

Other known features among the technical specifications for the LG Maxx LG9400 smart phone include a 5 Mega Pixel Camera, finger touch mouse, GPS, Wi-Fi, DivX and HD video support as well as mobile TV (T-DMB). Some of you might be wondering what the mobile phone in the photo is about but Cyon is LG’s Korean phone brand.

Interestingly enough for us, the LG Maxx LG9400 cellphone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8650 chip which supports both CDMA and GSM bands and gives us great hope that this phone will soon be available in other parts of the world.

The LG Maxx LG9400 mobile phone may not be the top of the line phone available from LG Electronics but it is a feature phone and indeed has some very interesting specifications, it would definitely be worthwhile in our opinion to have a go at the LG Maxx LG9400 smart phone once (and if) it becomes available for the rest of the world.
