LG Viewty GT405 cellphone review

Available now from 3 Mobile UK, the LG Viewty GT (also known as the LG GT405) is the latest in the Viewty series of phones. Combining a whole host of features and sporting LG’s own S-Class UI, the LG Viewty GT is available on contract at a very affordable price (15 pounds per month for an 18 month contract or up to 35 pounds a month on a 24 month contract). While the LG Viewty GT is not cutting edge, it has a lot of interesting features and given its affordability, will no doubt be an attractive choice for many people.

The technical specifications for the LG Viewty GT405 cellphone include a 3″ TFT resistive touchscreen, accelerometer, 60 MB internal memory with a microSD slot for up to 8 GB expandable memory, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g), aGPS, microUSB port, FM radio with RDS, 5 MP camera with auto-focus and LED flash, quad band GSM for global roaming and 3G capability through HSPA.

While the S-Class UI available on the LG GT405 is not the best mobile platform available out there by any means (for one thing there are very few applications/widgets available whereas Windows Mobile, Android and iPhone OS have marketplaces with thousands of apps) it does look good and has a homescreen where you can place shortcuts, widgets or applications for easy access.

Of course, in these days of social networking connectivity, the LG Viewty GT405 smart phone comes with Facebook and Twitter integration as well as access to Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger out of the box. You can also make Skype to Skype calls on the LG Viewty GT405 mobile phone and upload pictures or post updates to your favorite social networking sites.

On paper the LG Viewty GT405 cellphone seems to be a very good deal indeed and despite having a resistive touchscreen, still manages to compete with many mid to high-range smart phones available in the market today.
