Official statements are issued by Nokia and RIM against the new section of Apple website.Actually Apple has lunched a section that is explaining smartphone Antenna performance that is started just after the press conference.In this section Apple use the handset of RIM, Nokia ,HTC and Verizon to prove that signal loss problem is not only faced by Apple iPhone but also the mobile phones of aforementioned companies are encountered with similar dilemma.
During press conference CEO, Steve Jobs, of Apple said antenna problem was “a challenge for the entire industry.”Jobs also mentioned the name of BlackBerry Bold 9700 from RIM, Samsung Omnia II, and the HTC Droid Eris to highlight that including these handsets several other mobile phones are experiencing signal loss problem when gripped.Moreover,he specially said about Nokia, “You can go on the web and look at pictures of Nokia phones that ship with stickers on the back that say ‘don’t touch here’.”
At the end of conference Apple launched a section in which The Blackberry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, and Samsung Omnia II handset displayed side by side the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3Gs,the purpose of this demonstration was to explain smart phone antenna performance.
RIM didn’t accept these references of Apple and signed an official statement the purpose of which to show RIM as “global leader in antenna design”. The company also said that RIM always design the industry-leading” products for over 20 years.
Just like RIM, the official statement of Nokia emphasized that the company is “the pioneer in internal antennas.” Not in direct sense but in an indirect manner Nokia replied to Apple by highlighting the company core competencies in the antenna design for decades.Some points from official statement of Nokia “As you would expect from a company focused on people, we prioritize antenna performance over physical design if they are ever in conflict.”
Finland based Nokia admitted that the tight grip definitely affects the antenna and signal performance.In Nokia official blog Poked Fun , in one June post the iPhone 4 “death grip” issue, numerous pictures displayed demonstrating that performance of signal never down whatever the way employed by Nokia user for griping the handset.In response to this post user of site posted videos that highlighting the warning “to avoid touching the antenna area” and that “contact with antennas affects the communication quality.”
