Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone OS updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Samsung Galaxy S is the second handset that gets an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update while first device having this OS is Google Nexus S.  This OS is embedded in Galaxy S device by Supercurio over XDA-developers. With the update of OS some features are also update in this Device.

Samsung Galaxy S with Gingerbread will be featured with:

  • NFC chip
  • LED flash
  • Bluetooth 2.1 similar to Samsung Continuum
  • Screen off CRT animation
  • User interface refinements with a green-black theme
  • Garbage collector

It is also reported that the Capacitive touch keys, ROM, Wi-Fi of this device will also get an update though it hasn’t integrated with micro SD card slot and FM radio. This new version of Galaxy s will be available in first or second quarter of next year. Currently, Android 2.3 is not available to download for Samsung Galaxy S.
