T-Mobile Garminfone smart phone announced, preview

T-Mobile most recently announced a new phone for the carrier’s lineup, the T-Mobile Garminfone which is suspiciously like the Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50. Okay, so there is nothing suspicious about it and the T-Mobile Garminfone is pretty much the Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50. Regardless, the upcoming T-Mobile Garminfone has a whole lot of features and is fully GPS capable, furthermore, you also get a proper smart phone experience as the T-Mobile Garminfone mobile phone is based on Android.

The technical specifications for the T-Mobile Garminfone include a 3.5″ HVGA capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch functionality, accelerometer, 4 GB internal storage (most of which is used to store the pre-loaded maps for North America), microSD for up to 32 GB of expandable memory, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), USB 2.0, 3 MP camera with auto-focus and geo-tagging and GPS with aGPS functionality.

If that is not impressive enough then you should know that the T-Mobile Garminfone cellphone is integrated with Garmin apps such as Garmin Navigation and Garmin Voice Studio. Garmin Navigation is pretty self explanatory although it should be mentioned that Garmin’s navigation service is quite superior to free navigation services such as Google Maps.

The T-Mobile Garminfone with Garmin Navigation features automatic re-routing, voice (utilizes text to speech technology to read out street names) and on-screen directions as well as fast and reliable directions courtesy the pre-loaded North American maps.

Garmin Voice Studio on the other hand is a new Android app by Garmin that debuts on the T-Mobile Garminfone which allows users to share and record custom voice directions from friends, family or contacts.

Furthermore, the T-Mobile Garminfone smart phone will come bundled with a window and dashboard mount which will make navigation while driving easier as well as charging the phone on the go.

All this is of course in addition to the T-Mobile Garminfone cellphone‘s capabilities as a high quality Android based smart phone.

To conclude, we find that the T-Mobile Garminfone mobile phone is a very good overall package and you can get your hands on one when it is released later this spring.
